Highlights of Early July

On my way to town, I took some pics of this guy crossing the road...

Miles, one of the kids in Charley's playgroup, invited us to his second b-day party - a cowboy party!  So, we got all dressed up in her cowgirl boots to go!

A bunny greeted us upon arrival...

... and a pony to pet!

Inside was quite festive, with hats, badges, and stick horses!

And these little kazoos to blow

Charley was happy to play with the kitchen

Waiting for the pony ride

Thanks, but I think I'll just go back in to play with my kitchen!

Okay, NOW it's our turn...  a little forcing to get her on (I don't think that's an okay thing in the parenting manuals...)

But then she liked it!

Thanks Steve, I'll have that phone!

Playing with our loot - post party

The YCC kids built 10 kestrel boxes, and I went to take pics (my next newspaper article...)

Charley loves watching the "Story Before Bed" books Nana (and sometimes Pops) record for her
Yikes - ignore the mess!  This is my "corner"

Oh - a few more oddball party pics that others took

A spend-the-night party at Layla's

Anyone want to guess what this hawk is?

We think Swainson's???

Awesome Hawk Attack

I was sitting at the kitchen table when all the birds exploded off our feeders.  Two poor Mourning Doves opted to stay behind.  Big mistake.
