A New Perspective

(Somehow this got saved as a "draft" and never published - old post).

Now that Charley can bring herself to a seated position, she spends a whole lot more time sitting than laying.

And I frequently find her sitting up in her crib after her naps.

Rub-a-dub Dub

Okay, so it was time.  Charley had long outgrown her sink tub (yes Katie, you were right), so we finally moved to the big tub.  As Grandma said - "once you do it, you'll wish you'd done it a long time ago."  She was right!  Charley loves it, and it's so easy and fun!

Finger Foods - Like 'Em or Not

Charley had her first finger foods at 7 1/2 months old - watermelon.  She was a fan!

She was not picky - my little eater would gobble up anything I put in front of her!  Then, a month and a half later at 9 months old, she started refusing some of my offerings.  She started doing this adorable "scrunchy face" - I think after it got a few laughs, however, it became as much fun and games as food avoidance!  That lasted about a month - she hasn't done it in a while.

Important People to C

Grandma came to visit me back in July, for the 4th and Daddy's b-day.  We had a lot of fun!

Then my cousin Elizabeth came and stayed with us.  She made me laugh!

Daddy makes me laugh too, when he plays games with me.

Pops plays the funnest games with me too!  Like - "The airplane rolls, and yaws, and pitches!!!"

Bag of Tricks

It's amazing how fast they learn things.  Once Charley learned one thing, it's like suddenly it clicked and she's picking things up left and right.  Here are some videos of her giving fives, clapping, and waving bye-bye.

She also likes to point - she points at everything!  So curious.  She loves to watch the hummingbirds.  You can't see the feeder here, but that's what she's watching/pointing at.

She also picks "clap your hands" out of things I read to her and songs she hears,  like this book:

And here's an impromptu run-through of all her tricks!

Awesome Hawk Attack

I was sitting at the kitchen table when all the birds exploded off our feeders.  Two poor Mourning Doves opted to stay behind.  Big mistake.

Visiting Friends in Bama

We spent a couple of days with Heather, Heath, Jack and Emma at their home in Ider back in April.  We had tons of fun!  Between the kids, dogs, farm animals (and of course Heath and Heather!) to play with, Charley was in heaven!

Charley getting Jack:

Charley also got to meet her first horses and cows.

Somehow she's gotten more scared of them as time's gone by!

And here's Charley discovering her first dandelion with Heather:

In short, we had a blast, and are so sad we're not closer to hang out more often!

A "Catch-Up" Post

I have some pics I wanted to share, so here goes:

She loves to clown around and get a laugh!

I found this large gopher snake skin by a burrow one day.

Here are some family photos taken by my cousin Elizabeth.

Here is Charley's 10 month photo (even though she's now 10.5 months!)
And this little marmot was hanging out by the office one day.
