The first one was pretty much a disaster... I regret it. She was too young and the dentist too zealous. We took her to a pediatric dentist. This time we decided to have our regular dentist (who doesn't even recommend seeing kids until they are 3) see her. Much better choice.
We prepared - reading books about going to the dentist, talking about it, and "practicing". However - the morning of our appointment they called to say the dentist's wife had gone into labor! They offered to still have the hygeniests clean our teeth, however, so we said yes.
So, he agreed to "take a look" in Charley's mouth, to make her feel like she'd been seen (since we'd worked on it!). It took some coaxing, but after a bribe to pick out a toy, she happily opened!
Family and friends, here is a little update of our life. Thank you for sharing it with us!

An uber catch-up post
I fully intended to get these all posted in nice individual pieces before Heather arrived and my week + hiatus, but it didn't happen, so now I'm throwing them all into one mega oddball post just to get caught up.
Charley's first poop in the potty - she got 3 candies (chocolate chips) as a reward:
Hiking on the Ruby Crest Trail with Paula and dogs.
For Rod's birthday, I made my Grandma's apple cake and took it to the office for everyone to enjoy.
Dressed and ready for the Ruby Valley 4th of July picnic
Before heading out on our camping trip, I wanted to set up the tent to make sure it was all in order and I knew how! Charley helped!
