An October Surprise

One late afternoon, we went for a drive on the refuge.  When we came home, we found this!

Our super neighbor Trish, AFTER taking our dogs for their second (if not third) walk of the day, had sneaked in and secretly decorated Charley's bedroom in Halloween lights!  HOW FUN!  Charley was enthralled!

Bringing home a baby bumblebee...

Charley was the cutest little bumblebee for Halloween.  She wore it twice - to the Halloween event we attended in Vegas (which you've already seen), and to the Trunk or Treat we held at the bunkhouse on the refuge.

Here she is, all dressed up and ready to go.

And here we are, at the bunkhouse - first we had a potluck.

 Then, trick or treat!

 And, Gramma's birthday presents arrived today, so we got to open those once we got home!

Friends and Fun

Once back from Vegas, Charley was happy to see the "Morses"!

 Paula came over bearing birthday gifts - a quilt she made!  And she stuffed the pockets with tiny toys - what a neat idea!
