Rio Grande Valley, Spring Break - Laguna Atascosa NWR

After taking 2 days to drive to south TX, arriving at Adolph Thomae SP, and spending our first night camping, we spent our first day of vacation at Laguna Atascosa NWR.  Rod took a 4 hour morning birding tour, while the kids and I hiked and toured the visitor center.

 ...  and art.  Fortunately we were very close to the playground, where we spent a lot of our time while there.

 Day 2 - we returned to Laguna Atascosa.  This time we all took an auto tour by van to parts of the refuge not opened to the public.

Beaver Lake - Prairie Creek - Part 2

We went back to Prairie Creek to enjoy another afternoon at the lake.  This time, Grandpa was along.

 Toothpick/marshmallow sculptures were a hit.

 We also got to go in a blow-up planetarium for the first time...  pretty cool!  No pics though...

Winter program

And that same night...  Daddy/Daughter dance.  Rod did it up right, brought her a corsage to wear.  ;)
