Fishing

One of the things Rod wanted to do this summer was take the kids fishing.  So, to Cabela's we went, and he went all out, with Charley coming away with a Frozen fishing pole and tackle box, and Reed with a Cars pole and box.  They thought they'd died and went to heaven.  Our first fishing outing, to Lake Bentonville.

Lake Bentonville is right beside a tiny airport, so the whole time planes were flying in over our heads.

Charley was a trooper.  Reed just wanted to pick plantain flowers...

... and do somersaults!

Oh...   AND disassemble his $25 plastic box that he'll probably never use for fishing a day in his life.  Oh well, they look good doing it!

We didn't catch anything, but fun was had by all!

Collages and Swim Lessons

I had planned tons of activities to do at home this summer.  Problem is - we are never at home to do any of them!  So, I try to squeeze them in here and there, between all of our going and doing...

Mammaw sent the kids this butterfly calendar, and since Charley is so into butterflies, I thought we'd turn it into a collage for each of them.  Reed got to cut and glue, so he was happy, and Charley really made a beautiful work of art, which is now hanging in her room.

 We signed Charley up for swimming lessons - 8 in a row - and Rod made all 8.  Reed and I made six, and we all started going early to get some swim time in.
