The "Great Crane Festival"

As Charley puts it...  the Sandhill Crane Migration on the Platte River.  It was an amazing experience.

After checking out the visitor center, we hit the observation deck to watch them come in to roost on the river.  Pretty sunset!

Charley met a friend - as usual

After he left, she pouted...  as usual!

Spent the next day at the Children's Museum.

Then hit a bridge over the Platte River to watch sunset, night 2.  I tried to get pics of the birds in the sky to give an idea of what it was like.

We got up before sunrise and hiked out to the bridge the following morning.  Reed was not a happy camper, so Rod allowed me to stay and witness them wake and lift off the river, while he walked a screaming boy around.  :(

Tea and Style Show

As part of Charley's preschool fundraiser, the Volunteers of America put on a Tea and Style Show fundraiser each year.  The theme this year (April 2015) was little girls' dresses.  As such, Charley was asked to be a model.  She and I had a "girls' day" while the boys stayed home.  It was so much fun!!

An old dress from the museum she carried around to show off

A "modern day flour sack" dress - made by Nana

She was asked to curtsy, and it was A-Dor-A-Ble!!!  Wish you could have seen it!

One Year Later

So, my last post was Christmas 2014...  and it is New Year's Day, 2016!  Wow, a whole year without a blog post, I have really slacked!  The next several posts are going to be random and out of order, but at least it will give you (mostly grandparents!) a bit of insight into the kids' last year, a piece at a time!!

As soon as we moved to Arkansas, we started exploring our new surroundings, enjoying having new things to do.  We went to Gravette Days, a festival in the small town of Gravette, about 30 minutes from our house.

We also checked out the city pool - a nice one, and cheap way to spend a hot day!
