Look at their chrysalids – one was green, on a living green stem when made, the other was brown, built on a brown branch.
We had swallowtail caterpillars running out of our ears, and very little host plant left, so we made a trip to the garden section to buy more host plants. When we got there, we discovered the seedlings for sale were covered with their own caterpillars! The cashier was very interested in the whole thing, so she told the kids to pick off the caterpillars to take to our yard, and take several free parsley plants with them!
