Withrow Springs SP with friends

So, now I'm catching up on August and the waning days of summer.  We tried to squeeze in as many fun things as we could before we no longer would have the chance!  We spent a fun day with our friends the Turnbaughs at Withrow Springs SP - a beautiful locale not too far from us.

We started our adventure in a dry creek bed - looking for critters and climbing on rocks.

Then we had a picnic.

Next we explored the swampy area.

 

Rod caught lots of snakes, surprise surprise...  ;)

Including this guy, who spit up his lunch.  Fortunately Rod got it back in him!

Then we moved to the creek.

These ants were eating a katydid.

What a fun day!
